Hi there - the bass & drum charts have been updated. Lots of new stuff.
Check the news for more info - Libster.

Bass & Drum Charts - Dec 2009

"The Libster" is an educational bass guitar site. There are lots of lessons and bass transcriptions, bass oriented sound files, playing tips, links and lots of other goodies to be found here. If you're a total beginner, you've come to the right place. If you're a teacher, you've come to the right place. If you like getting down and dirty and funky, you've come to the right place. If you're a french horn player, you might be better off having a google. (The site is currently being dusted off, after years stored away on a firewire backup drive. I can't quite believe I found it again).

Here's some of the stuff you'll come across on the site:

  • the"Bass Bits" page - which is probably the quickest way to find the good stuff
  • a pretty cool beginner lesson, even if I do say so myself
  • a lesson section - which includes a series of reading lessons, a series of chord/harmony lessons and lots of other stuff.
  • various lessons on bass techniques
  • lots of bass music
  • lots of transcriptions
  • a basslines sections - with loads of bassline arrangements. Lots of famous songs. Lots of arrangements I've done for TV shows.
  • lots of pieces and exercises to practice
  • lots of sound files
  • not much tab

The silly interactive guestbook - "The Libster Lounge" - is now up and running again. I'm eventually going to upload an archive of the old Libster Lounge (if I can find it), which features entries from such bass royalty as Marcus Miller and Carol Kaye.

There is a brand spanking new Q&A section and the Blinks page has just had an overhaul.

If you find any dodgy links on the "new" site, I'm not really sure that I care. Seriously though, let me know as I'm trying to iron out the bugs at the moment. There are probably thousands buzzing 'round in here.
